The second edition of the international workshop of LE GIORNATE DEL CINEMA, organized by Aretusa Films in collaboration with Monte San Savino City hall and the Special Agency Monte Servizi, will take place from the 16th to the 26th of August 2025. This edition will host the Iranian master Jafar Panahi, who won this year’s Palme d’Or with his latest film “It was just an accident”. JAFAR PANAHI will guide 30 international students in this immersive experience, while they will be writing, filming, and editing a short film in the wonderful town of Monte San Savino, Tuscany. La Chaise Vide Ou La Table Bleue by Ilaria Gambarelli has been selected for the 8th INTERNATIONAL WOMEN FILMMAKERS FESTIVAL of Izmir, Turkey. The festival will take place from the 5th to the 10th of May 2025.
Aretusa films in collaboration with Monte San Savino City hall and the Special Agency Monte Servizi are proud to announce the first international workshop in the medieval town of Monte San Savino, called Le giornate del cinema, hosting the cinema master VICTOR ERICE. It will take place from November 23 to December 5, 2024. International students from all backgrounds could apply to this incredible initiative, and during 10 days they will have the possibility to create a short film under the master guidance.
PERMISO by Mariana Freijomil, produced by Aretusa Films, has been selected for the Festival de Cinema d’Autor de Barcelona, taking place from March 27 to April 6, 2025. The short film turns a simple everyday moment into a powerful and playful reflection on how images can bring us closer to — or distance us from — the people we love.
La chaise vide ou La table bleue is an intimate and visually rich short documentary by Ilaria Gambarelli, exploring Marta Villalonga’s creative life and her decades-long collaboration with architect Ricardo Bofill. Produced by Aretusa Films, the film is both a tribute and a quiet meditation on love, legacy, and artistic inspiration.
Produced by Aretusa Films, Si tocas una…, directed by Mariana Freijomil, is her debut short film and had its world premiere at the 2022 Festival de Cinema d’Autor de Barcelona. It was also selected for Fisura Mexico (II Edition) and the Manlleu Film Festival. In just four minutes, the film turns childhood photographs into a poetic and mesmerizing meditation on memory, loss, and the emotional resonance of the images we hold onto.
Ese soplo, directed by Valentina Baracco Pena and co-produced with Aretusa Films, premiered in Spain in March 2024 at DOCMA’s Cineteca Madrid screening, where Aretusa accompanied her to the event. This intimate documentary follows Valentina and her 88-year-old grandfather as they film their unique relationship, exploring love, loss, and what it means to be alive. The film has been featured at major festivals like Philadelphia Latino Film Festival and DocMontevideo, winning the Special Audience Award at LatinUy in Uruguay.
